When Age Is Just A Number In Marriage
Age, they say, is just a number. Really?. I think Age is as important as anything and that's why countries and religions recognize age in vital events, and marriage is certainly one. With age comes emotional and physical maturity, with age comes wisdom and experience, with age strength and ability diminish, etc. As much as love doesn't care about age, certain factors are considered. Personally, I can't date or marry a lady who's 10 or 15 years older than me. First, my emotional maturity may not match hers. respect may be a hard nut for her, she would be frail and weak when I'm still strong and agile, our thinking ability may differ. If it doesn't matter now, it will surely matter in the future.
Is it a taboo?
No, marrying an older woman is not a taboo. Love doesn't care about one's age, tribe, or personality, it can happen between any two persons and societal judgment has no power over what they share. No society would forbid one from marrying who chooses to marry someone older than him as long as he insists. As long as the marriage is between a male and female, It's never a taboo. It's my personal decision not to marry someone older than I am, especially with such a wide age gap. I care a lot about age when dealing with a lady

What Matters In A Relationship?
Age affects a lot of things ranging from one's stamina sexually to their interest in romance. Interest around romance depreciates with age, when one desires a high level of romance, the other may not have the vibe to, her interest may have been targeted to children and other things. Having common interest matters a lot in a relationship, it keeps the marriage alive. By nature, men's strength stays for a longer time and that's the reason why men marry younger ladies. As much as understanding and peace matters in a relationship, I doubt if I can have the latter with a woman much older than me.
Why I wouldn't consider marrying a lady much older than me?
It's difficult for a lady who's much older than a man to respect that man- If it doesn't happen everywhere, it does in Africa. She may lose her sexual strength and interest early, when in fact I still have much of the agility for romance. Her thoughts and pattern of reasoning would have a visible difference caused by age and years of experiences, mostly higher than mine. It might be a good thing but could result in disagreement most times.
conclusion
Age is not a number. Age is an age and number is a number, they're both separate entities. In age are years of experience, renewing of thoughts, reconstructing concepts, anatomical and physiological changes, and growth. These changes are what brings about the way one thinks and behaves while Number doesn't have life in them.
