One Year on Hive: A Journey of Discovery, Growth, and Belonging.

Good morning, wonderful Hive family. I’m @zusi78, and today I will keep this brief.When I saw the message from #hivebuzz on my news feed, I could hardly believe how quickly time has flown. To me this is a double celebration: reaching 70 reputation and my one-year Hive anniversary.On 27 July 2026 the calendar quietly marked a full circle.Exactly one year ago, on 27 July 2025, I took my first step onto this decentralized home.

No one onboarded me, there was no invitation code, and no warm hand to hold. I simply saw an advert on X (then still Twitter) from @hivebuzz about Hive Power Up Day. Something about that call to action caught my attention, and I followed the trail here.I logged in through Ecency that first day (after many attempts), and it has remained my favorite frontend ever since — clean, welcoming, and full of life. It was on Ecency that I first met people who became the heartbeat of my early days: the always-encouraging @melinda010100, fellow newbie and wonderful @kachy2022, and so many others whose names still bring a smile.

The Communities That Became Home:
I found belonging in spaces that felt alive:
#splinterlands – where strategy and fun collided.
#actifit – movement, health, and consistency.
#freewriters – pure expression without walls.
#hivenaija – my people, my roots.
#shadowhunters – stories and imagination.
#indiaunited – warmth across borders.
#neoxian – the creative and the bold.
And a host of other circles that quietly shaped the rhythm of my days.This journey was possible solely because of you.

The Downs That Tested Me.
As a newbie then,It was not all smooth.There was the Photo/Image Plagiarism incident,a hard lesson that earned me a caution from @hivewatchers.
There was the day I posted in the wrong community and watched a tsunami of downvotes roll in,I was almost shedding tears.Those moments stung.They made me question whether I truly belonged here. But they also taught me respect for original work, careful reading of community rules, and the value of humility.Those chapters are now history.They no longer define the story; they simply sharpened the writer who lived them.

The Ups That Made It Beautiful.

Look how far the road has come.From a complete stranger who stumbled in through an advert to 4,250 staked HP and still counting.That number is more than a balance. It is proof of consistency, of showing up, of powering up when it mattered, of learning, of contributing, of staying.Every post, every comment, every engagement, every Power Up Day, every quiet day spent writing — all of it compounded into growth.The platform rewarded patience.The community rewarded sincerity.And time rewarded the decision to stay.

One year ago I arrived with curiosity.Today I stand with gratitude,a stronger stake, clearer voice, and a family that spans continents.
To everyone who liked, commented, resteemed, mentored, or simply existed in the same timeline as me,thank you.You turned a random click into a home.
Here is to the next year: more original words, more careful steps, more communities lifted, more HP earned the right way and more beautiful mornings like this one.
