Lone dancer

I did it! On Friday night I got it into my head that I will go out. Alone. With none of my usual partners in crime. No lifelong girlfriends or boyfriend in tow.

I've done many things solo like travelling or dining out, shopping or sipping a drink by the ocean. But this was a different test of my social skills or should I say survival skills 😄

It was kinda liberating though nothing wildly exciting or dramatic happened.

I had the pleasure of sharing my table with a family who wandered into the bar after some other event. They were so delighted that I waved them to the empty seats without objection that they offered to buy me a drink and later to share their snacks. As their son shared, he would do this too - I didn't catch where 🤔 perhaps college - ie go out alone, and come away having acquired at least 5 new friends. I laughingly assured him that I was not likely to accomplish that!

All in all a relaxing evening of people watching and dancing until I saw a familiar face, whom I joined for a spell and then headed home because this woman in her 40s is accustomed to the sweet embrace of her bed by 10 pm 😄 Frankly, I outdid myself staying out past midnight!
