So, NextColony. I'm in Outer Space Mom!

I wanted to sit down and write an initial review of NextColony after a few days of playing but there isn't a lot of content to talk about since gameplay is extremely limited at the moment.

I am at meta-skill 46 at the moment. That's an overall value of my character thus far and how I am doing. What am I really doing at the moment tho? Nextcolony is designed for the long haul, and that can be a good or bad thing in the months to come. We are so wired in today's society for instant gratification. We want to jump into a game, conquer/destory/levelup/loot that it's very commonplace in games today to give out rewards nonstop to keep players interested. NextColony rewards it's players with the anticipation of those resources piling up enough to make your next skill or building upgrade, eventually.

Oh, the free to play life! Obviously I could hit the in-game shop and procure some resources using cryptocurrency to expedite my journey into the great unknown but I am personally not ready to invest in the game yet, financially. There are still features missing like battling and I have experienced page loading errors. I may be a little more cautious than other players when jumping into a new game and it's potential market. I want to see how things look a few months down the road.

So, what's the goal here? To get off of Alpha at some point. The game doesn't clearly tell you what level you need your skills and buildings at in order to build them. According to Discord and other players you want to get to your shipyard to 13 and your Explorer ship to 20. It's obviously gonna be a few more hours before I reach that, just kidding it'll be a least another week.

I am going to stick this out, for no other reason than it's minimal time investment and I really wanna see if I live next door to Spock or Alf or those giant blue guys on Pandora.
