Creative Sunday :sewing sandals
I almost forgot that today is Sunday. I just received a notification from prayzz reminding all members that there are various creative contests today. For a moment, I wondered what I would do to participate. On the other hand, I didn't want to miss this contest like I did last week. The weather here is unpredictable, sometimes it rains, sometimes it's sunny, and sometimes it's a mix of both, rain and sunshine.
I can't do activities outside the house, so I decided to do some creative work indoors. The creativity is simple but very useful: sewing broken sandals. What's there to be proud of about this creativity? Of course, I don't need to take it to a shoe repair shop; instead, I can have them repair my sandals at home. Now, I'll invite you to see my creativity.
First, I'll prepare the materials:
Thread
Sewing needle
Glue
Let's get started. The first step is to apply glue to the peeled part of the sandal. It only takes a small amount to adhere. After spreading it evenly over the entire surface, I apply it and press it down for a moment to ensure it adheres perfectly.
Once the glue starts to dry, I immediately sew it. First, I pierce the sandal with a special sewing needle at the point I've determined. Once it's through, I hook the thread around the needle and pull it out. Then, I hook it with the end of the thread on the outside so that the threads are connected. This is a traditional sewing technique.
The stitching is the same until the end, and I continue to the other side. I only sew the straps, not the entire sandal. Considering these are high-quality rubber sandals, sewing the straps alone is sufficient.
After completing everything, I have now repaired these sandals and they are ready to wear again.
Note: I only sew sandals myself, I do not accept orders.
This is the final result of my selfie with the sandals I created today. If I'm late in submitting my entry, I apologize because the signal in my area is unstable. That concludes my creative post for today. See you next week.
