为什么中国的春节叫过年
古时候，人们认为有两个怪兽，一个叫“夕”，一个叫“年”，前者是个坏兽，专干坏事，后者是好兽，专干好事，这两个兽，前者喜欢冷，后者喜欢热，所以前者在冬天出现，后者在春天才出来。 由于春节正是冬春交替的时候，正是夕睡年醒的时候，所以人们就在这个赶走坏兽，迎接好兽。冬天的最后一天叫“除夕”，就是赶走前者的意思，而迎新年又是指迎接后者。 现在春节就有两个意思，一个是过春节本身，二是迎接新年，后来合起来，就成了“过年”。
