[ESP-ING] Prayer for Venezuela

You really want to help in so many ways with this tragedy that has engulfed Venezuela—bringing food, medicine, clothing, and supplies, and assisting in the disaster zone, among many other things—but it’s certainly true that if you aren’t trained to provide relief, you shouldn’t be in those places where there are already personnel helping out, and countries that have extended a helping hand to us and are doing a great job—and we’re very grateful.

On the other hand, food aid has been quite satisfactory—so much so that some of it has even been wasted, as have clothing and basic necessities. Unfortunately, there are many who are taking advantage of what is being delivered to the victims and stealing it. This is happening in several states across the country, and it’s concerning to see such greed on the part of many Venezuelans who are exploiting the situation.

Another cause for concern is that children are being abducted; there are children who have been rescued and taken to hospitals, and then when their parents or relatives come looking for them, they can’t find them—they’ve been taken away. Others are being abused. This fills me with sadness, anger, and even the urge to wipe out all those scum of people, but the most I can do on my own is pray for my country.

I consider myself a person of faith, and that’s why I believe that God can hear our prayers and change the situation in Venezuela—bringing comfort to those who need it, bringing peace to this country, helping the rescue workers by giving them the strength to save many people, and continuing to sustain the lives of those trapped underground so they can be rescued—and, of course, helping the many children who need it.

That’s why we went to a neighborhood in our state to offer prayer and hope for our country. Prayer opens the gates of heaven, and that’s what we need most, so it was a time when many of us came together to pray for so many people. There were also families there who still have loved ones in La Guaira waiting for a miracle, and what better way to offer that hope than by praying to God for all those requests.
