I Won a Night Cafe Challenge

Well, this was unexpected. The image above won a daily challenge on Night Cafe.

The prompt for the challenge was #orchestra . Since crickets delight the area where I live with their night time percussion during the summer, I thought it would be fun to have an image of a cricket orchestra.

The Night Cafe image generator enhanced the idea by adding a full moon and having the crickets standing on mushrooms.

There is probably some underappreciated artist somewhere who thought up the mushroom idea.

There were 3,984 entries for this challenge. There were many compelling images of orchestras in exotic settings.

I suspect that my image did well because it was a slightly off prompt but was subdued and did not compel down votes.

Another important part of the win is that I paid a few credits to enhance the image.

Because the image had an interesting twist on the prompt, I thought it would score in the top ten percent. I was completely blown away to learn that it won the challenge.

So, I generated the image below of a man accepting an an award as I study the ramifications of the win. Here is the high resolution image
