[E-Daily Reporter Bang Sung-hoon] At least 27 people were killed when Russia conducted a large-scale drone and missile strike on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko described the strike as the "largest attack ever" against Kyiv.

According to the BBC on the 2nd (local time), Timur Tkachenko, head of the military administration, said 27 people were killed and 91 were injured in the airstrike. Although there have been more deaths in previous airstrikes, this time the scale of weapons being deployed to the capital was the largest and extensive areas were damaged. The ambulance dispatch base was also one of the sites where it was shot.

The air raid came hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that "Russia is preparing to launch an attack." Several neighborhoods have been ordered to evacuate. According to the Kyiv subway authorities, 52,500 people, including 4,500 children, were evacuated to subway stations overnight. This is the largest number in recent years.

Russia claimed to have hit the munitions factory in retaliation for attacks on its civilian infrastructure. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russia would "continue to increase pressure on the Kyiv regime to achieve its goals." Ukraine, on the other hand, countered that Russia was targeting civilian areas and that "it was wrong to equate the actions of the aggressor with the actions of the country defending its country."
A high-rise apartment building in the Darnitsky area of southeastern Kyiv was among the shooting sites. Two missiles devastated the site. One left a huge pit next to the kindergarten, and a second missile a few steps away hit the end of the nine-story apartment building and toppled the building into a pile of concrete. Several people were missing, and they could have been evacuated to the basement, a resident said. Families watched in tears as rescuers searched the rubble for missing people.

Ukraine's Red Cross said the airstrike destroyed its warehouse, losing 1.3 million pounds (about 2.6 billion won) worth of supplies. The loss of about 320,000 relief supplies will affect emergency response and humanitarian activities across Ukraine, the Red Cross said.
The airstrikes lasted more than 11 hours and lasted several times. Dozens of ballistic and cruising missiles were launched around 1 a.m., starting with a drone attack that caused a fire in a downtown hotel. After a brief lull, about 10 more cruise missiles flew in around 3 a.m., followed by a group of drones targeting the capital until dawn.
Kyiv residents, who have been at war for more than four and a half years, say in unison that Russia's attack has changed in the past two months. They say that although the frequency of attacks has decreased, the duration has increased and it has become more powerful and widespread.

Ukraine is suffering immense pain amidst America’s neglect.
I hope the war ends as soon as possible to prevent civilian casualties and allow the country to be properly restored.
Trump still has not managed to end the war.
