A Different Day
Sometimes, all we need to clear our minds is to swap the noise of the city for the fresh air of the countryside a place where we can breathe clean air, connect with nature, unwind, and discover new places. My destination this time was Hacienda La Marroquina, located in the picturesque village of the same name in San Felipe, Yaracuy State, Venezuela. Although it has everything it needs to be an agritourism destination, its primary focus is as a family-run business producing dairy products from buffalo milk.
From the moment you arrive, you can appreciate its beauty an enveloping beauty that makes it, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful haciendas I’ve ever visited. Its landscaping, designed with exquisite taste, stands out in every corner. The main house is a true architectural gem: a majestic country estate surrounded by lush greenery and featuring an impeccable swimming pool that invites you to relax (I couldn’t take any photos because, when I had access to it, I’d left my phone charging in the Caney area).
Beyond its architecture, my focus was on exploring the estate’s grounds; observing the sound management of the pastures, and along the way, you can also see buffalo, cattle, and a few horses. What stood out most was the implementation of regenerative livestock farming—a fundamental practice in these times when it is urgent to join forces to mitigate climate change and restore the soil.
Furthermore, the site’s biodiversity is enchanting, with tall bamboo plants carefully arranged to enhance the landscape, along with many decorative plants and delicate climbing flowers that transform the scenery into a dreamlike setting. All this vegetation creates a cool, revitalizing microclimate, complemented by a small stream that gently winds through the ranch.
It was a deeply rewarding experience the kind that not only recharges your energy but also reconnects you with nature.

Thanks for reading see you next time.
