Remember the support we received during the earthquake?

Now it's our turn to give back to our fellow Cebuanos affected by Typhoon Tino. From September 30 to October 5, many Cebuanos gave us relief goods, clothes, water and a tent, so now we take time to give back to our fellow Cebuanos.

On November 5th, we called out for donations to help our fellow Cebuanos who were in need. Our purok president took the initiative and went from house to house in Purok Uno, San Roque, to gather contributions from our neighbours. The response was heartwarming, with many households eager to contribute what they could. After collecting the donations, we gathered to sort and repack everything carefully.

Next, we made a trip to Prince to buy the necessary supplies for packing a hundred lunches. We wanted to ensure each meal was complete and satisfying. Back in the kitchen, we began preparing the lunch. We cooked a fried chicken and pancit.

After we cooked, we organised an assembly line to pack the meals efficiently. Each lunch pack has a pancit and fried chicken, ensuring that there is food that two persons can eat. In total, we packed 100 lunch packs, enough to feed a hundred people. Knowing that we could provide a warm meal to so many people in need of food. It was a truly fulfilling experience for all of us involved.

On November 11 we got ready for ourselves, and we had to go there, so our target places were Danao, Compostela, and Liloan. Then we arrived at those places; seeing their situation makes us cry. You know why? Remember on September 29 that earthquake hit us. At least our clothes are okay, even though our house has a crack, but if you see Cotcot, Liloan, it will make you cry. Cars, clothes, houses, and people – they will have nothing to bring because all of them are damaged, especially the cars. Many Cebuanos sacrifice themselves; despite all the challenges we faced, we are still thankful that we're alive.
