Celebrating Independence Day 🇺🇸 💥

Yesterday, was a fun day — spent with family and friends at a block party, celebrating America’s birthday: 4th of July 🗽

Interestingly, revealingly even, although I was in the USA, honoring an important National holiday, it was mostly with foreigners: Scottish, Colombian, Venezuelan— I even met a family whose kids went to the same school I attended in Cairo, Egypt!

BBQ was tasty, and big on meat, as you can see … which was prepared over wood and using smoke.

After the fun, family festivities we walked down the street to catch spectacular fireworks that had hearts racing and us oohing & aahing as we looked up at the marvelous lights and shapes illuminating the night sky.
