How Decentralized VPN Works
What is VPN?
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It is used to remotely connect to a private network and helps to generate a protected network connection when connecting to a public network.
There are some usefulness of using a VPN
๐VPN can give one access to his/her own Local Area Network (LAN) or office network from any where when one travels
๐ VPN is great for safety/security purposes when connected to a public Wi-Fi protecting against possible hackers
๐It aids in access to contents with geographical access restrictions
๐ It helps to protect the users online history and information from Internet Service Providers (ISP), the government or any other set of individuals or corporation seeking to track or buy your info.
A type of VPN called Decentralized VPN or dVPN is highly favoured nowadays. It profers a much more resillient connection security that is extremely hard to hack or track.
How does it achieve this?
It uses a peer to peer system where a lot of computers/laptop users are used as servers that offer a secure connection through a network of nodes on which the data is distributed. Sort of what happens in the block chain space with all transactions.
Just like the blockchain space, inorder for a dVPN to be hacked, the hacker would have to hack every single system that contributes to this network of nodes and this is virtually impossible.
Also a slow down or failure in some servers is swiftly compensated by other servers.
With dVPN, there are perks for offering computer to be part of the servers, compensations are given in form of cryptocurrency.
Despite this method of sharing and P2P system all data is protected by encryption.
One of the best dVPN is @Sentinel_co, with its internet security and privacy, its impossible to hack into users' action online. Also it keeps no records of users' online activities.
