The Joy Of Cooking My Own Meals
You probably didn't know this:
I am a Foodie.
Yes! I love food and most especially; the ones made by me.
I wasn't always a foodie though. When I was very little, I bearly ate. I was always forced to eat as I didn't like eating at all. Even when I was a baby, I would be tied and held tight — literally forced to eat.
My later years(4 - 8) were better though, I was no longer being forced to eat anymore but I still wasn't a fan of food. I loved to play a lot and I could play video games the whole day without even bothering about food...
Feeding was just a basic necessity of life and that was it.
But all that changed from my teenage years.
I started to eat, and eat a lot. I loved food and still do up to this day. Food is like my drug at the moment. Even when I'm angry or sad — I turn to good meals for comfort.
Luckily I do not like or eat a lot of unhealthy meals like junk. I love properly cooked meals and most especially the ones I make myself.
I first learned how to cook when I was around 16 years old. I lived with my Anty and she was a really good cook. I spent most of the time assisting her in the kitchen and in no time I developed my cooking skill as well.
I wasn't necessarily sure I knew how to cook though. Yes, I knew the recipes but I had not practised or cooked a meal yet.
I did little things like boil rice and stuff but as for preparing a soup or an actual dish, I was yet to.
The first set of meals — though not perfect, turned out great.

My cousin couldn't stop hyping me up as he believed the meal was delicious.
Ever since then I have been doing a lot of cooking. In the start, it felt like a chore and wasn't worth it; especially because of the time and effort required.
But in time I realised:
It is definitely worth it!
Cooking your meals can be beneficial :
- It helps ensure you're eating proper meals
- It reduces the cost
- You have the leisure of adjusting the recipe to suit whatever taste you crave
- Most importantly, it is healthier.
Recently, I got hang out with friends so I decided to cook for them.
I made Rice and Stew with fried Chicken and sausages.
Here's a picture collage of the meal process:
