The Value of Words
In today's world, many things have become cheap, but one thing is still priceless: a kind way of speaking.
Every day, we speak hundreds of words. Some make people smile, some give hope, and some leave wounds that stay in a person's heart for years.
I had an elder relative who always paused for a few seconds before speaking. As a child, I thought he was simply searching for the right words. One day, he told me:
"Anyone can speak, but the real skill is to say what you need to say without hurting someone's heart."
That sentence has stayed with me ever since.
In the age of social media, we often reply too quickly. We post comments in anger. We make fun of someone's mistake. But we forget that there is a real person on the other side of the screen—a person with feelings, emotions, and a heart.
Life has taught me that being intelligent is a good thing, and being successful is also a good thing. But caring about the feelings of others is even more beautiful than both.
People who carefully choose their words are rare. They think before they speak. They consider whether their words might hurt someone. These people may not make the most noise, but they leave behind peace wherever they go.
In my opinion, true beauty is not found in a face but in a person's tone and manners. And real education is not measured by degrees, but by how we treat other people.
May those people always stay blessed who choose their words carefully out of fear that they might hurt someone's heart. They do more than communicate—they protect the feelings of others.
