Swollen Face — A poem.
[ Written ages ago. I was just a baby then 😌 ]
The girl no one thinks
Twice about.
She gets up in the
mornings,
and washes her swollen face away
with the same water
that washes away the fear stains
from the night before.
She then brushes her hair
that falls perfectly
on her shoulders and perfectly
frames her face.
She puts on clothes that
subtly hide her body,
because she can't stand
to look at it herself.
So why would other people
Want to see?
Moments before she
opens her bedroom door,
she puts on a smile on her swollen face,
preparing herself to be the girl
no one thinks twice about.
Because it is far easier to fake it,
than burden someone else with her problem.
