آینهٔ درون | Mirror of the Within

بنشین با خود، ای دل، در خلوت شب

که آینه‌ات درون توست، نه در طلب

در بیرون مجو آنچه در درون نهان است

گنج تو همین‌جاست، زیر خاکِ جان است

تو آتشی و دود خود را می‌پرستی

در زنجیر خویشی، در حبسِ خود هستی

بشکن این قفس را با نفسِ آگاه

که روح آزاد است، چون باد بر سر راه

ای آنکه در آیینه روی دیگران دیدی

از خویشتن خویش چرا گریختی، چرا رمیدی؟

برگرد به خود، چون رود به دریا باز می‌گردد

هر روحی که گم شد، روزی به خانه باز می‌گردد

سکوت کن، ای عقل، که دل سخن دارد

در این خاموشی، خدا با تو نشان دارد

آنچه می‌جویی تویی، آنچه می‌خوانی تویی

در آینهٔ درون، خود را بخوان — که هستی تویی

English

Sit with yourself, O heart, in the solitude of night —

your mirror is within you, not in seeking outside.

Do not search without for what lies hidden within;

your treasure is here, beneath the soil of the soul.

You are fire, yet you worship your own smoke,

chained by yourself, imprisoned within yourself.

Break this cage with the breath of awareness —

for the spirit is free, like wind upon the open road.

You who saw only others' faces in the mirror —

why did you flee from your own self, why did you run?

Return to yourself, as the river returns to the sea;

every soul that was lost, one day finds its way home.

Be silent, O mind — for the heart has something to say;

in this stillness, God reveals Himself to you.

What you seek is you. What you call out to is you.

In the mirror of the within — read yourself — for you are.
