Nepal defeats Kuwait by 7 wickets

Nepal registered their second win in the Asia Final tournament today. Earlier, Nepal won the toss and they elected to field first. Kuwait scored 142 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in the first innings. Nepal chased the target in 15.5 overs with the loss of 3 wickets.

With this win, Nepal has moved up in the points table. Currently, Singapore is in the first place with 5 points and Nepal is in the second place with 4 points. The match between Nepal and Singapore will be like the final of this tournament which will be played tomorrow at the same time. It is also the last match of this tournament. The team who wins this match will be selected for the final round of World Cup T-20 qualifying tournament which will be played in UAE in October this year. In case of the match washed out by rain, it will be unfortunate for Nepal and cricket. In such circumstance, Singapore will travel forward to UAE else the winner of this match counts. Chasing the target, Paras Khadka and Gyanendra Malla made the opening partnership of 44 runs for Nepal. After, Gyanendra became out in the 4th over by making 19 runs with the help of 2 fours and 1 six, Sharad came in the crease. The partnership of Sharad and Paras was the base for the win of Nepal. Paras completed his 3rd half century in this format of cricket today. Before Kuwait, he scored half century against Netherlands and Malaysia. They made a partnership of 78 runs. Paras scored 11 fours and 1 six today. He was out in 68 runs in 42 balls which is the highest score by any batsman in this tournament till now in this edition. Dipendra was also out in a single run after Paras was out. Rohit and Sharad made the partnership till the end to claim Nepal the victory in this match. Sharad scored 38 and Rohit scored 6. Both were not out till Nepal chased the target. All 3 Nepal wickets were taken by captain of Kuwait, Muhammad Kashif.
