This time a piece done by painters collection De Strakke Hand, for Museum Arnhem.

In some of my older posts, i wrote about pieces done for the Arnhem Museum in city of Arnhem. These were done by several artists for the 100th anniversary of the Museum in 2021, and placed all around Arnhem for a broad public to see and boost their interest too go and see the real pieces. The Artists

De Strakke Hand is an art-painters collection of 13, located in Werkhoven, in the shadow of Utrecht.

The Artwork

Above the Cozy Lunchroom on the Roggestraat in Arnhem, De Strakke hand placed this great mural of the artwork of Charley Thoorop, Stilleven met bloemen en vruchten (Still-life with flowers and fruits) from 1927.

The painting meassures 100 cm by 80 cm
(39.37 inch by 31.49) and is currently on display in the Kunstmuseum of The Hague.

The original artist, Charley Toorop, was born in 1891, and was the daughter of art painter Jan Toorop. After being teached painting by her Father, she joined the artist collection know as "Het Signaal". And later became one an important expressionism painter. Untill her death in 1955, she kept painting and made over 40 works throughout her life.
