Storytime

Hello, Ram Ram, Namaste, Sastriyakal, to all Hive users. Today I'll tell you a story. This story is of a known person. A long time back, around 1941, there lived a boy in the state of Uttarakhand, in a village. His mother and father died due to the disease TB; at that time, there was no cure for TB. When he was around 5 years old, his mother died, and after 6 months, his father also died and both of them died because of TB. He had 5 brothers and 3 sisters, there were only his grandfather and grandmother, who took care of him and other children. His grandfather was fine but, his grandmother was blind but, could sense things from listening.

So, his 2 elder brothers studied and got educated but, he was denied by his grandfather that he should be at home for taking care of animals, because no one was expected to take after animals. So, the boy grew up - he took care of animals, he took animals to graze in the fields and he had to do the household work, not completely but, mostly the work in the village and at home. He grew up and till 13 years he did not went to school, but, he kept seeing other children of his age group which lived nearby, who go to school. He also thought of going to school but, due to responsbilities he was compelled to live at home only. But, one day, he thought of joining school but, at that time also it required fingerprint sign in the form for admission but, he knew that his grandfather would not agree to sign in the form, so, he went away from house without telling anyone and it was Wednesday on that day. His foot's thumb size was equal to his grandfather's hand's thumb size.

So, he put ink on his foot's thumb and made a fingerprint on the form and he got admission in school. As now he was 14 years old so, he got admission in 1st class at 14 years of age. He was average in studies and he could perform better but, his eldest brother who earned money because he was a teacher. His eldest brother didn't gave him money to pay the fees of the school and he had only 1 pair of clothes and when he wash the clothes, next day he had to wear wet clothes for school because in villages of Uttarkhand it's not that much hot in summers. So, like this he reached next class and he was moniter of his class from class 5 to class 10 and at previous time and even now also, students get mid day meal in school so, they also get meals everyday and the teacher said to him to distribute meal to all students and said to him that rest which would left you can take it home or eat it here only because he was teacher's favourite, because a person who is moniter for 5 years, there would be some reason.

So, the time passed and the boy reached in 10th class and he failed in 10th class 2 times because his elder brother didn't buyed him books which were needed for study. At age of 26 he passed 10th class and he studied till 10th only and he studied from the Ramsay Intercollege of Almora, which is also at present. Then, he went back to home and again started taking care of animals and even animals also loved him a lot and he also loved the animals a lot, all the animals listened his words and follow them. Then he got married and then he started doing some other work in the village from which he could get money, then after some years he got a job as a postman in Panwanaula in Almora district, but, his job was private and we know that after retirement a private job person doesn't get pension. He had 4 kids ( 1 son and 3 daughter) , he also made them educated and successful. At 1997, he got government job as a postman and got a promotion. Then at 2008 he got retired and then he built a house in Haldwani and the story ends happily and the secret revelas that he is my grandfather.

So, for Today, this much only, till further goodbye.
