Artichoke beauty

I've never really been a fan of artichokes. As someone who only has a small garden, they seem to be a waste of space. But their flowers are a whole other thing, enough to make anyone gasp with amazement. So I usually keep just one plant on hand, just for this experience! This year my plant didn't make it through the relatively hard winter we had. But the memory of its beautiful flower was captured here.
