Drawing Godzillas | [ENG/ESP]

Hello, Sketchbook community! Ever since I joined Hive, I’ve been looking for places to share my drawings, and today, by chance, I found you all. I’m Wara from Bolivia, and it’s a pleasure to meet you.

I really love drawing because I feel like it helps me relax, and it’s also fun. I have a sketchbook that I fill up every now and then with the drawings I create.

Today I want to share my latest drawings with you—this time, it’s Godzillas, haha. I really enjoy drawing more cartoonish or animated-style characters, but I also like drawing other images that really catch my eye.

Here’s a look at the process. I liked the first one because, even though it was simple to draw, it had a really funny expression. After I finish drawing it, I like to go over it with a fineliner and then color it in.

I don’t always do the whole process in one day—sometimes I just feel like sketching, and other days I want to go over the lines and color it. That’s why I still have several drawings to finish, although, as I mentioned, I like to do this in my free time or when I want to relax my mind.

What I really liked about my next drawing was its simplicity and the colors. I really enjoy getting ideas from sites like Pinterest, where I’ve seen a wide variety of very original options.

Here you can see that Godzilla is angry—maybe he’s tired of always being mentioned whenever people talk about Japan, hehe. I really like Japanese culture, and that’s why I like drawing him, too.

I’m also adding my own style to it. I don’t consider myself an expert at drawing, but I’ve realized that drawing every so often helps you practice and better understand how dimensions work—for example, angles—in short, everything a drawing needs so it isn’t just flat and boring.

Dibujando godzillas

Hola comunidad de Sketchbook, desde que entré en Hive siempre estuve buscando lugares para compartir mis dibujos y hoy de casualidad los encontré a ustedes. Soy Wara desde Bolivia y es un gusto conocerlos.

A mí me gusta mucho dibujar porque siento que ayuda a tranquilizarme y también me divierte, tengo como un libro de dibujos donde de vez en cuando voy llenándolo con más dibujos que realizo.

Hoy les quiero compartir los últimos dibujos que realicé, esta vez les tocó a los godzillas jeje, me gusta mucho dibujar cosas más caricaturescas o de dibujos animados, pero también otras imágenes que me llaman mucho la atención.

Aquí les muestro cómo fue el proceso, el primero me gustó porque si bien era simple de hacer tenía una expresión muy graciosa, luego de acabar de dibujarlo me gusta repasarlo con un estilógrafo y luego pintarlo.

No siempre hago todo ese proceso en un mismo día, a veces me dan ganas sólo de dibujar y otro día de remarca y pintar, es por eso que aún tengo varios dibujos por terminar, aunque como les conté, me gusta hacerlo en mis tiempos de ocio o cuando quiero relajar la mente.

En mi siguiente dibujo lo que me gustó mucho era la simplicidad del dibujo y los colores, me gusta mucho sacar ideas de páginas como Pinterest donde he visto que tienen variadas opciones y muy originales.

Aquí pueden ver que el godzilla está enojado, quizá aburrido de que siempre lo nombren cuando se habla de Japón jeje, me gusta mucho la cultura japonesa y por eso también me gusta dibujarlo.

También les doy mi propio estilo, no me considero una experta dibujando, pero me di cuenta que dibujar cada cierto tiempo ayuda a que practiques y entiendas mejor cómo funciona la parte de las dimensiones, por ejemplo, los ángulos, en fin, todo lo que debe tener un dibujo para que no sea algo plano y ya.
