β¨ When Paris Lights Up: An Evening at the Eiffel Tower π«π·
There are places you have seen hundreds of times in photos, movies, and postcards⦠but standing in front of them is something completely different.
That was exactly how I felt seeing the Eiffel Tower illuminated at night.
We arrived while there was still a little blue left in the sky. The tower had already turned golden, creating that beautiful contrast between the warm lights and the deep blue of the evening. I honestly think this is one of the best moments to see it β not quite daytime, not quite night.
As the minutes passed, the sky became darker and the Eiffel Tower seemed to shine even brighter.
πΈ The first lights of the evening
Seeing the Eiffel Tower slowly become the brightest thing in the landscape was incredible. I had seen this image countless times before traveling to Paris, but being there and looking up at it was another experience entirely.
πΈ Sometimes you just have to stop and look
One thing photographs don't really show is how enormous the tower feels when you're standing this close to it.
There was no rush. Just a moment to look up and enjoy finally being there.
πΈ Paris in blue and gold πβ¨
This combination might be my favorite: the intense blue sky of the evening, the trees surrounding the Champ de Mars, and the golden Eiffel Tower dominating everything in front of us.
πΈ Getting closer
The closer we walked, the more impressive the structure became. From underneath, you begin to notice just how much ironwork makes up this monument.
It is one of those places where looking at the details is almost as impressive as seeing the complete tower.
πΈ One more look up
Of course, I couldn't resist another photo. π
When you're standing almost beneath the Eiffel Tower, looking straight up seems like the most natural thing to do.
πΈ And then night arrived π
Once the sky became completely dark, everything changed again.
The golden illumination became much more intense and Paris finally started to feel like the nighttime version of the city I had imagined before coming here.
πΈ A view worth remembering
Walking farther away gave us another completely different perspective. From the Champ de Mars, the tower stands perfectly framed in the distance, with its light stretching across the night sky.
Seeing my son standing there in front of it made this photograph especially meaningful to me. Some travel memories are about the places you visit; others are about who was there with you.
πΈ One last photo before leaving
And obviously, I needed one more photo too. π
After spending so much time around the Eiffel Tower, watching the daylight disappear and the city transform around us, it was finally time to continue our Paris adventure.
I know the Eiffel Tower is probably the most photographed place in Paris, and maybe one of the most photographed places in the world.
But when you're finally standing there yourself, you understand why.
Some places really do live up to the expectations. π«π·β¨
