Giveaways on Posts and Other Updates

Waivio now supports Giveaways on Posts, a new feature that lets authors attach a prize directly to any post on Hive. Whether you’re celebrating your community, promoting a new project, or simply boosting engagement, giveaways are now built right into the editor on Waivio and on all social sites hosted by Waivio.

When creating a new post, authors now see a simple Add giveaway button beneath the editor:

Clicking Add giveaway opens a setup panel where authors can customize all the details of their campaign. You can set the reward amount, number of winners, expiry date, participation requirements.

For more targeted campaigns, authors can limit eligibility to users who meet specific criteria. Giveaways can be restricted by Waivio expertise, follower count or number of posts:

Once your post is published, Waivio automatically adds a clear, reader-friendly giveaway section. It shows the reward, the actions required to enter, and the eligibility rules — all formatted as plain text so it can be read in any Hive app.

When the giveaway expires, Waivio automatically selects a random winner and publishes a concluding comment with the result, ensuring the entire process is transparent and verifiable on-chain.
