Beer

Initially, the word itself and the concept of "Beer" meant any drink and alcohol was not considered at all. There are a lot of myths about the origin of this valuable drink, but until now no one can answer the question: "Who has invented beer?"
No scientist, historian, geographer, archaeologist or culinary expert can say, - each will have his own theory and opinion of the origin of this priceless popular drink.

Archaeologists have discovered more than 15 recipes of beer that were carved in the Sumerian temple as far back as the third century BC! There is an assumption that it is from here that the recipes of beer have got to Ancient Egypt. The processes of cooking bread and brewing beer here were closely intertwined, because the preparation of this drink was associated with dried or toasty malt bread. Bread, onions and beer were almost the main meal of the poor, and the norm of food for the builder of the pyramids was: three loaves of bread, three jugs of beer and a couple of bunches of garlic and onions.

Another evidence of brewing in the second millennium BC was discovered in Babylon. One basalt column, next to the code of laws, there are rules for the preparation and sale of beer. Also in these paragraphs it is noted that those who do not prepare beer well, are subjected to terrible punishment, such brewers must drink their beer until they die.

Each country had its own beer. For example, in Ancient Armenia, then it was the Urartu Kingdom, as in ancient Greece, this drink was called barley wine. In England, beer gave its tender name - ale. In China, beer, or rather a similar drink made from pre-germinated rice. In Europe, by the 8th century, monks were already brewing, essentially changing the recipe and supplementing the primary contents with spices and herbs. It was used as a medicine. In the 16th century, the Bavarian Duke William IV legislatively forbids the use of all kinds of additives, leaving only pure water, malt, hops and yeast in the recipe for "pure" beer.

Today in the whole world beer is considered the most popular alcoholic beverage, able to quench your thirst, cheer up, gather a merry company. For a glass of beer, you can just sit silently or discuss important matters, watch a show or the performance of your favorite football team and an endless number of options when no beer ... well, no way!

If we have a regular snack for beer are chips, pistachios, fish, then in the homeland of beer in Germany it is used with traditional German dishes, sausages or a pork knee. In Belgium and Holland, beer is drunk with fish, and in the Czech Republic and Austria beer will be served to pork with sauerkraut and dumplings.

Beer, like every drink, has its own rules:
• Beer should be drunk from a pure glass or a mug. In addition to hygienic considerations, the purity of the packaging affects the formation of the foam;
• Usually beer is served cool, the best temperature is 7-9 degrees C, because a colder drink does not reveal the fullness of the taste;
• beer has its own formula "4x4". This means that the height of the foam should be at least 4 cm, and its resistance is not less than 4 minutes;
• it is right to pour beer from a height of about three centimeters while the glass can not be shaken during the filling process, keep it tilted to a bottle or a tap;
• it is considered bad taste to clink glasses or mugs with beer! If you raise a glass to health, you can just nod your head.
