Tryst Hive Hackathon Submission

Introduction of Yourself and Your Team Hello Hive community! We are the Hackonauts, a passionate team of developers participating in the Tryst Hive Hackathon. I’m Krishna GSVV, the team lead, joined by Harsha P, Harshita O, and Sneha V. We’re a group of tech enthusiasts from India with a shared love for coding, blockchain, and building innovative solutions. Our skills range from Python backend development to frontend design, and we’ve come together to create something special for the Hive ecosystem.

How We Got to Know About Hive
We first learned about Hive through the bustling developer community in India and online forums discussing decentralized platforms. The Tryst Hackathon, organized by Hive India, caught our attention as a perfect opportunity to dive into Hive’s blockchain and explore its potential for social media applications. The idea of a censorship-resistant, user-owned platform fueled our curiosity, and we’ve been hooked ever since!

A Thorough Description of Your Project’s Working
HiveBuzz Project Overview
HiveBuzz is a decentralized social media application built on the Hive blockchain. Our goal was to create a user-friendly, censorship-resistant platform where content creators can connect, share, and earn rewards seamlessly. Using Python, Flask, and the Hive blockchain API, we’ve developed a web app with the following features:

Secure Authentication: Integrates Hive Keychain (browser extension) and HiveAuth (mobile QR code scanning), plus a demo login for testing.
Content Creation & Sharing: Supports markdown posts, tag management, and permlink generation for blockchain storage.
Feed & Content Discovery: Offers a personalized dashboard, trending posts, and recent activity tracking.
User Interactions: Includes upvoting, commenting, follow/unfollow, and reputation tracking.
User Preferences: Features light/dark mode, color schemes, notifications, and profile visibility options.
Wallet Integration: Displays Hive, HBD, and HP balances with transaction history (transfers and power-ups in progress).
Responsive Design: Works flawlessly on mobile, tablet, and desktop with a modern, customizable UI.
The backend runs on Python with Flask, while the frontend uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. User preferences are stored locally, and all content is powered by the Hive blockchain and dBuzz API.

Our Overall Experience of the Event
The Tryst Hive Hackathon was an incredible journey! From brainstorming HiveBuzz to coding late into the night, we loved every second. The Hive India team’s support, the vibrant community, and the chance to work with cutting-edge blockchain tech made it unforgettable. We’re proud to contribute to Hive’s ecosystem and can’t wait to see how users interact with HiveBuzz.
