VERDE

El verde que miras florece si tus ojos lo fertilizan.
Lo mismo sucede en tu corazón cuando alguien cultiva una llama viva;
su fuego derrite el barro que dejan las lágrimas,
su calor entibia la resequedad
y cuando brota tu primera hoja,
no hay rojo, no hay azul, no hay arcoíris;
solo el corazón como una flor,
en la cima, pero temeroso;
cristalizado, pero atento;
frágil, pero con esperanza,
con la melancolía de sus primeros cortes,
con su flor interior llamada, sueño;
ansioso de nuevas primaveras.
He ahí mi corazón, que corre como el joven,
sediento de mares y montañas,
amoroso de fracasos que triunfen,
inútilmente bueno para la razón;
pero arriba, donde se debe estar antes de caer.

GREEN

The green you look at blooms if your eyes fertilize it.
The same happens in your heart when someone cultivates a living flame;
its fire melts the mud left by tears,
its warmth warms the dryness
and when your first leaf sprouts
there is no red, no blue, no rainbow;
only the heart like a flower,
at the top, but fearful;
crystallized, but attentive;
fragile, but hopeful,
with the melancholy of its first cuts,
with its inner flower called, dream;
anxious for new springs.
Behold my heart, which runs like a young man,
thirsty for seas and mountains,
loving failures that triumph,
uselessly good for reason;
but above, where one must be before falling.
