The Hay Fever continues...

๐ŸŽถHay now, hay now...Don't dream it's over...๐ŸŽถ

There's way more hay
to move away,

out of the former chicken coop.

Way more hay and dust and poop.

This huge amount of hay previously filled the hay loft above the place where the the chickens resided. That is, until last November.

That month, the old man whose place we're acquiring, took his chooks away to bring them closer to the house where he actually lives, in the nearby village.

the door opening at the back left is the entrance to the space I am/ we are currently clearing out

And here's two pics of the former hay loft.

One seen from below...

and one from above...

There's still plenty of work to do on that top room though. Including dealing with the roof, the wooden ceiling and the wooden floor, that are all in either a state of needing extreme cleaning ( from being used by animals only, for decades ) and/ or repairs and last but not least adaptations to make the place livable for human beings.

Clare and I can't wait to move out of our tent ( although it's relatively comfy in there, at night, with dry weather ). Not entirely insect proof but more insect proof than all our other rooms, at the moment.

We would love to sleep in a proper bedroom, sooner rather than later, but - as I mentioned before and, I guess, as per usual - there's quite a bit more work to do than expected. And, as we do everything by ourselves on a very limited ( aka almost none ) budget, things move slowly.

Add to that the hot Summer weather and things move even slower...

Also, clareartista@clareartista is out earning money these days and I try my best to keep things going on our homestead and am the person doing most of the DIY-ing - instead of us DIT-ing ( Doing It Together ) - so it's fair to say that things move even slower than slow - haha!

I did manage to clear out quite a bit of hay today though.

It's piled up at the edge of our orto ( future vegetable garden ), where it will be used as mulch.

Comunque, I just learnt that Clare is about to return home, so I'm signing out for now.

Tomorrow is another hay day.
