Dino Cave Painting

Hypersensitivosaurus woke up, one morning, feeling like he could use some more color in his life. His cave was still dark and he couldn't see a thing and that was exactly what led to these thoughts...

I felt like I had to write a random dinosaur story, to get back into my dino book writing. Looking at the little tubes of paint on my dinner/ creative table, led to the above scene, based on word play.

A day or two ago, I logged in, for the first time in quite a while, on reedsy.com, where I am ( writing and ) editing my dino books. There is plenty of reasons for not having done so, as of late, as I recently moved house, but also because my laptop has just been fixed and I had been without it for half a month while my phone was having issues too.

After having logged into reedsy.com, not much happened. I didn't want to force things, so I logged out again.

To get back to the start of this write up, the paint tubes on my table made me feel like painting instead of writing and this time something more interesting - and less ugly - than my recent shameless art which had merely been an attempt to get back into creative mode.

Apparently that intention worked, as today, I felt like going for a quick visualization of 'cave painting'. Not the cave painting that you might think of if you read those words, or the title of this post, but literally the painting of a cave, like people paint their houses haha!

I must say that I'm pretty pleased with the result. At first, I wanted to keep it very basic - kind of like a primitive, prehistoric cave painting. T this explains why Hypersensitivosaurus does not look much like his usual self. Soon after, I decided to add more and more colors and actually use some paint.

Funny enough, the only part that I didn't color was the paint brush that your favorite terrible lizard holds. Another fun fact is that my first idea was to just color the paint on the top of the brush and a spot of red on the cave. That is literally the part that I started with.

Anyhow, I will conclude by sharing some parts of the process that led to the eventual painting as depicted on the last two photos.

In the end, the dino story was not needed. Nevertheless, I feel that this is just what I needed to get back to writing soon. And, in all honesty, I have been repeating over and over that I want to paint more, so I'm pleased pleased ( double pleased ).

P.S. I am considering to turn this into an NFT and add some details digitally but time will tell if I will actually do this.
