Neuere PCs (ab Intel Core 11000 CPUs) können keine 4K UHD Blu-Rays mehr abspielen. Sind 4K Blu-Rays damit tot?

Grund ist ein DRM-Feature von neueren Intel CPUs (Intel Software Guard Extensions SGX), das allerdings wegen schweren Sicherheitslücken ab den CPUs der 11. Generation (2022) wieder entfernt wurde.

Dieses Feature ist aber notwendig, um 4K Blu-Rays auf einem PC abspielen zu können.

Das ist wirklich ein Witz, anstatt dass man das DRM-Feature streicht, können 4K Blu-Rays auf neuen PCs einfach nicht mehr abgespielt werden.

Newer PCs (from Intel Core 11000 CPUs) can no longer play 4K UHD Blu-Rays. Are 4K Blu-Rays dead?

The reason is a DRM feature of newer Intel CPUs (Intel Software Guard Extensions SGX), which was removed due to serious security vulnerabilities starting with CPUs of the 11th generation (2022).

However, this feature is necessary to play 4K Blu-Rays on a PC.

This is really a joke, instead of removing the DRM feature, 4K Blu-Rays simply can't be played on new PCs.
