Romanian Athenaeum (Ateneul Român) ist eine prestigeträchtig Konzerthalle und ein Wahrzeichen im Stadtzentrum Bukarests. Das neoklassizistische Gebäude, das auch Sitz der "George Enescu" Philharmonie ist, wurde 1888 eröffnet.
Fun-Fact: Ein Teil des Baukosten wurden übrigens über eine 28-Jahre andauernde Spendenkampagne mit dem Slogan "Donate one leu for the Ateneu" (Dați un leu pentru Ateneu) finanziert.

The Romanian Athenaeum (Ateneul Român) is a prestigious concert hall and landmark in the center of Bucharest. The neoclassical building, which is also home to the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, was opened in 1888.
Fun fact: part of the construction costs were financed by a 28-year fundraising campaign with the slogan “Donate one leu for the Ateneu” (Dați un leu pentru Ateneu).
