The rain would pour down in torrents
Listen to the rattling laughter of the clouds
Ha! How filled with joy
we used to run barefoot through the courtyards to float paper boats
in our canoes catching colorful fish of joy
how happy we were then
Today, in the rain of announcements
when countless paper boats float
and the noise of the water continues to grow
my childhood is being displaced,
if I write a poem on 'rain'
what should I write—tell me
Look! How, like a celebration,
Many efforts are being made to grab the headlines, amidst public lies
In this rain of relief,
how much has the thirst of parched lips increased?
In the face of this thirst,
how can I write about the flow of monsoon?
You tell me.
Filled with passive excitement,
What a difficult, terrifying time it is.
Eagles are hovering in the sky,
Surrounding the country's borders,
Dark clouds are rising from every direction.
Will this be the heaviest rain of this century?
With a troubled mind, surrounded by apprehension, I am wondering, in that catastrophic waterfall, will the poems written on 'rain'
reach every home, take everyone across?
