Temptation without addiction

Today I woke up feeling like drinking coffee.

It dawned raining, plus the air conditioning in the room and a little headache for having slept a few hours, about 5.... Uhmm everything conspired to make me crave it.

I needed to warm up my body, soothe the headache and get an extra dose of energy.

I took about ten minutes or so to brew the coffee, take some pictures and drink it piping hot while I took advantage of those minutes to myself, contemplate the scenery and get ready to take care of the day's business. Today the first thing was to get my mother up and give her a bath, but today I put that step on the back burner because the coffee wanted to smile at me first.

When it rains it provokes me a hot drink, sometimes tea, sometimes chocolate, sometimes coffee. I like it that way, I like to vary and I like to feel free of dependencies of any nature.

A very strong and very hot coffee is a real temptation, but sometimes I can easily say no, sometimes I can even not even remember that it exists, or yes, but I leave it quiet and it leaves me quiet, I can drink it only when it really provokes me and it does not dominate my cravings nor make me need it every time, nor every day.

This is perfect for me. One pack of coffee lasts me a good number of days, and I don't go crazy when I don't have it. An intense yet controlled pleasure, delicious but not excessive, that allows me to enjoy it without feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes necessary, but not indispensable.

Clearly, I have no coffee vices, but I clearly enjoy coffee, but I am happy sometimes to prefer other ways of warming up.
