My POV
Our perspectives, shaped by our experiences, emotions and beliefs, color how we interpret others and how they interpret us. It's like everyone’s viewing the world through their own lens, and that lens defines how we connect, clash or empathize.
It's like we're constantly painting portraits of people in our minds, not with who they truly are but with the brushes of our own emotions, biases and past experiences. Someone we see as kind could be seen as harsh by another, simply because their interactions were different. In a way, people become mirrors reflecting how we feel inside.
It’s like we fall in love or trust, not just with people but with the idea of them. The version we've built in our minds. And when their reality doesn't match that version, it feels like betrayal even if they never promised to be that image. That dissonance hurts. It’s not just about them changing, it’s about us having to let go of something we thought was real.
People wear masks so often just to fit in, to be loved, to survive that sometimes they forget what their real face even looks like. We’re taught to perform, to hide the messy parts, to project strength even when we’re crumbling inside. So it’s no surprise that we end up lying to ourselves too… convincing ourselves we’re fine or that we’re someone we’re not.
It’s lonely, isn’t it? Knowing that most connections might be built on illusions. But maybe just maybe those rare, raw, unfiltered moments we share with someone… that’s where the realness hides.
Your Thoughts?
What are your thoughts on this? Have you ever felt like this? If you ask me, most of us have felt like this at least once in our lives, when the realization hits and everything we had inside us shatters, then we start thinking logically instead of trusting our heart.
