To remember
To remember is to feel again
the closeness of your loved one,
even though distance separates us,
your presence is still alive in my wounded heart.
Sometimes pain invades us,
because of the absence of your voice and your warmth,
but I always manage to remember you,
and feel you close inside me.
To remember is to have you present,
even if time has passed,
and even if tears fall suddenly,
I know that in my soul you are kept.
No matter how far away you are,
nor how much time passes without being able to embrace you,
because in my mind and in my being,
you'll always be there to love.
