At night
Only the sound of the fan spinning at high. The red LEDs in my room makes The shadows feel unreal.
The kids are sleeping, the wife is lying next to me and I can hear her breathe loud. Is she dreaming?
Sometimes when I'm about to go to sleep I can hear myself breathing and it wakes me up, or other times I feel like I'm falling on the floor.
The other day I heard a faint scream become intolerable and as I woke up panicked it morphed into the sound of the AC. Funny how the brain can play with us.
The lights, the sound, all part of our daily lives yet so intangible.
