We've found something that fully justifies our decision to drop everything and travel the world. We've found what is without doubt the most astonishing wonder of the world we've ever seen! This place even surpasses our old favorites the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon.

For this post, we are breaking our chronological order because we want to share something extra special with you. The Lençóis Maranhenses National Park has been in our world map for almost 4 years and we finally got to see it this week.

And OMG, what an amazing place it turned out to be! Right from the first sight we realized that we were witnessing something extraordinary. It was as if nature had decided to bring down to earth the cascading lines of the Aurora Borealis in its most minimalist rendition.

Here's why you should visit asap.

1. As you can see from the video, there was hardly anyone around and 99% of the tourists were Brazilians.

2. It's not easy to reach and that makes the reward all the sweeter.

3. It has a first impression like no other.

4. As far as we know, this place is completely unique.

5. You can trek there for days. It's so huge that you can easily see it from space.

Pretty soon we'll be visiting Salar de Uyuni and we can't wait to see how that compares.
