When Life Gets Easy, Don't Lose Yourself
Hello Hives,
Most people believe that the biggest test in life is going through hard times. I used to think the same way. When life is difficult, we naturally pray more, seek God's direction, and depend on Him because we know we can't do it all by ourselves.
But as I grow older, I have realized that comfort can be an even greater test than hardship.

When everything is going well, it's easy to relax but not just physically, but spiritually too. We become busy enjoying our success, chasing bigger goals, and celebrating our achievements. Before we know it, our prayer life starts to fade. We begin to feel like we have got everything under control, forgetting that the same God who carried us through the storm is also the One who made the calm season possible.
I have ve seen people who stayed humble when they had nothing but changed completely after they became successful. They stopped appreciating others, became proud, and acted as though they no longer needed anyone and not even God. It's a reminder that success does not always reveal our strength but sometimes it reveals our weaknesses also.
There is nothing wrong with having money, living comfortably, or achieving your dreams. Those are blessings that many people pray for, even me. The real danger is allowing those blessings to get into your head and change your heart. If success makes us arrogant, ungrateful, or too busy for God, then we have missed the purpose of the blessing.
Hardship has a way of teaching lessons that comfort rarely does. It builds patience, strengthens faith, and reminds us that life can change at any moment. On the other hand, comfort can silently make us complacent. We stop depending on God because everything seems to be working out just fine.
That is why I believe our prayers should go beyond asking God to remove our problems. We should also ask Him to protect our hearts when life becomes easy. We need the grace to remain humble when people praise us, grateful when we have more than enough, and compassionate toward those who are still struggling.
At the end of the day, every season of life is a test. Hardship asks, "Will you keep trusting God?" Comfort asks, "Will you still remember Him?" Both questions matter.
So as we pray for open doors, financial breakthroughs, and success, let's also pray for wisdom, humility, and a thankful heart too. Because it is far better to succeed while staying close to God than to gain everything the world offers and slowly lose the values that matter most.
