Christianity is currently the most widely practiced religion on the planet. Occupying the minds of over 32% of the world on almost every continent

Most the celebrated holidays, unbeknownst to them, do not come from the bible

You might ask

"But how could this be? Holidays like Christmas and Easter have been celebrated for hundreds of years. If they had nothing to do with the bible, where did they come from and why are they still celebrated?"

Well I'm glad you asked.

Similarities to Previous Religions

Many of the Christian Holidays and Doctrines are simply amalgamations and mutations of pagan religions as well as astrology.

Some consider religion to be nothing more than an Astro-Theological Literary Hybrid (Zeitgeist)

Easter occurs on Sunday every year, it's not a fixed date as it follows the Sun and the seasons.

It is supposedly celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, 3 days after his crucifixion and burial. However, Resurrection mythos are not exclusive to Christainity. Many other pagan religions have mythos celebrating the death and resurrection of their deities as well.

The stories of Baal, Horus, Dionysus, and Ishtar are just a few. We'll come back to those another time.

Now, lets take a closer look at

Easter Rituals

Lent

This forty day fast runs following Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday. The term is derived from the Old English term "lencten" meaning "spring."

Now if you've ever read the bible, you'd notice that neither Ash Wednesday or Lent are ever mentioned

Curious right?

The roots of Lent can be found in the Mesopotamian story of Tammuz, the only son of moon-goddess Semiramis and the sun god Nimrod (Baal).

After Tammuz was killed by a wild boar, his mother mourned him for 40 days (one for each year of his life) before allegedly resurrecting him.

After he is brought back, the joyous feast of Ishtar took place.

The feast of Ishtar (Easter) celebrates the resurrection of the only begotten son, and the pig is representative of the boar that killed him. This perfectly explains why Christians eat ham typically on Easter.

There is clearly Idolatry written all over this celebration of false gods! And lets not forget it is also a violation of the commandment not to eat pork.

"And the swine, ... it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase. "
Deuteronomy 14:8

Eggs and Rabbits

Easter has another tradition that seem odd and out of context, yet nobody ever seems to question it. Namely, the decoration of painted/coloured eggs which are distributed by the Easter Bunny.

So, what does a rabbit have to do with Jesus' resurrection & why the eggs?

You might be thinking now "Huh, you're right, rabbits don't even lay eggs that's funny"

Where do these symbols come from then?

Etymology and Symbolism

The name Easter can also be derived from the Saxon goddess of spring Eostre

She is symbolized and personified with rabbits & the Anglo-Saxons used the Vernal Equinox to make offerings of colored eggs to her.

Have you noticed the similarities yet?

1. Lecten means spring
2. Eostre is the goddess of Spring
   The Vernal Equinoix

These ALL have to do with the season of Spring specifically

You might still be asking "Hey, but what about the eggs?"

Well, the eggs are a symbol of fertility and Tammuz's mother, Semiramis, was a fertility goddess

Eggs also serve as a metaphor for the birth of the Universe

"Well, if this really is a pagan holiday, why is it only celebrated by Christians today?"

Good Question. It's not....

Similar Holidays

Egyptians and Persians have historically celebrated the Spring Festivals of "Sham El-Nasim" and "Norwuz," both of which often showcase coloured eggs.

It seems obvious then that Easter is a Spring festival amalgamated with Christianity to accommodate pagans

If you are religious, then by celebrating Easter you are directly violating the commandments of god not to worship or celebrate pagan festivals or gods and goddesses.

"Rid yourselves of the foreign gods and ... commit yourselves to the Lord and serve him only" (1Samuel, 7:3-4)

This is a prime example as to why you should DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH

Most have never read the bible or studied the history of their religions.

As a result they are easily indoctrinated into celebrating things contrary to their claimed beliefs
