If We Met Again this Is What I'd Say
Hello friends, how are you? I hope you're all doing well. Today, the topic I'm about to discuss with you is a bit sad: the silence of the night, and if we were to meet again, what would I say?
Sometimes in the silence of the night certain people linger in my mind—those who once were the very breath of life but, over time, have become only memories. Today I wonder: if we were to meet again, what would I say to them?
Maybe first I'll thank you—thank you for those beautiful moments we spent together, for the conversations we shared with advice. But friends, is it possible that people who pass away ever meet again?
This letter is especially for my father. I won't complain to him. In life, the two of us had to take many different paths. Some decisions weren't ours to make. Circumstances eventually separated us. If we ever meet again, I'll tell him how I've spent my life since he left—it didn't come to a halt, but it did slow down. I was left reeling, and it took me a long time to pull myself together. Wounds heal, but some scars always remain.
I will tell them that I was happy without them, hoping they would come back. But my heart wants their life to be filled with peace and quiet. Some people spend their lives not in love itself but in waiting for it. I, too, will live my life the same way for my father.
Maybe we both smiled and went our separate ways this time too, without any fault or resentment, merely with the hope that wherever we are, we'll be happy. As Muslims, we believe we will meet one day—with a fresh smile and success—and we won't hold any grudges against each other, but We will surely be something, for we will meet again.
