Sunday Freewrite 2

Another week closer to the holidays!

On my way back from a holiday event at 9pm in the cold, something unexpected happened to me. My car's transmission died. It was upsetting, but I'm alive.

I cursed my car and tried some basic repairs to no avail. The towtruck driver was helpful and my insurance covered most of the tow. He regailed me of the tale of a recent crash with fatalities, and it occured to me it could be alot worse.

No matter how bad it seems, we are alive. I was mad that my car will cost me to repair it, but my body is unbroken and life is ok.

Saturday was a lesson. Life is fragile, machines break and it can be inconvenient. We need to remember how precious life is.
