Hey Steemit, I'm Trolling! A Brief History of the Trololo Song and Eduard Khil the First Rhinestone Cowboy
Eduard Khil was a great entertainer in the Soviet Union in the 1960s. He was a bit of a rebel too with his disobeying orders from the censors of the government. As with the cowboy scene in this song which was seen as too "American." He was not allowed to sing the lyrics but still acted as he was lassoing cattle like a cowboy. Go Eduard! I love the smile on his face as he does it. Knowing he had just pulled a fast one on the entire Soviet government! Haha! This song always brings me joy and I hope it does the same for you.
