For many dark years I had power to burn
Never a problem with nothing to learn
Sucked in the trap faith to a back seat
Chased by the devil left out on the street

One day to the next all was the same
Highly rewarded for playing in his game
Mindless and thoughtless he pushed me through life
In a circular journey feeding my vice

No fear no knowledge fair friends at the best
Demons were filling my black treasure chest
Misguided by lies and promise of love
Over the edge I leaped needed a shove

A greater power had besieged me
Closing the doors of my bad destiny
I questioned I cried I fell to the floor
Not seeing before me the new open door

From darkness to light, scary at best
A new journey beginning to fufill my quest
I have no idea what the world has in store
The light is so bright but I seek even more

The dark blind years I now put behind
Breaking the ties with him and his kind
He will be waiting to lead us astray
The struggle and battles go on day by day
Banish the night and live for the sun
Existing in darkness is misguided fun
It’s not rose couloured shiny or new
Taking your joy, steals from you too

Temptation prevails and around corners it waits
Protect your soul and close all the gates
It calls your name attacks when you weak
Keep eyes on the road the path that you seek

Trust in yourself and always be true
Rewards will be plenty and the sky will be blue
Go soft on yourself the beatings been done
A new world is waiting go out and have fun
