W niektórych regionach Polski w tym dniu pali się duże ogniska, ale są one niczym w porównaniu do ogniska zrobionego przez Norwegów w Noc Świętojańską w 2010 roku. W 2010 norweskie Alesund podeszło do bicia rekordu w kategorii największego ogniska na świecie. Wieża o wysokości 40 metrów, w większości została zbudowana z drewnianych palet.
