Bridge over the Yayabo river

Hello dear friends of Hive, here I bring you a photo of a very emblematic bridge of the city where I was born, Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, the town "Yayabo", I like this photo a lot because this bridge contains the entire history of the first seven villages Cuban islands founded by the conquistador Diego Velazques, after the discovery of the island by the explorer Christopher Columbus. In this Colonial stage, the main towns were built around rivers for the supply of drinking water, the bridge unites two cities that make up the town, Reparto Colón and Parque Serafín Sánchez Popular Council, it is located in the place most traveled by tourism and It has been a fundamental link for the growth of Restaurants, Inns, recreational centers and along with this, the choice of many local and foreign visitors. According to the historian of the city of Sancti Spiritus, known as "Ñeñeca", the bridge was built using natural techniques and materials such as goat's milk, and the first terracotta-based concrete, currently there are legends such as the one that says that " who bathes in the waters of the Yayabo, does not want to leave the city", this is a beautiful legend because many visitors came and submerged in its waters to see how magical it was, currently the river is highly polluted, and although It has been excavated and drained several times for its cleaning, many people contaminate it again by throwing sewage waste into its waters, as well as garbage that has been in charge of taking away the beauty of this emblematic river. Around it is the Malecón Yayabero, where young people sit at night to share with guitars, to enjoy their partners, or simply to contemplate its waters. The bridge over the Yayabo River has been an inspiration for many artists of music, painting and writers, who have made this beautiful heritage a place worth visiting.
