Find Your Drive
A poem written by Edo-Olotu Karen
Giving up could be so easy,
It takes no effort, gives no pain
It has no rewards, has no gain
Though with it might come a little bit of shame.
It's totally human to want to give up
when you've put in so much work that fails to pay up.
People so easily conclude"oh you did not work hard enough"
But how many of them know just how hard it was or how tough?
And then you're at crossroads in your mind,
Do i give up now or try one more time?
Did i make the wrong choice?Maybe this just isnt for me
If i try one more time, what difference could there be?
You'll never know till you make that choice
Choose to be brave, refuse to be weighed down
Make each disappointment a source of wisdom
Wipe those tears,ball your fists
You have what it takes to crush those risks
Find your drive buried beneath the sadness and charge yourself for a better next time.
Please feel free to point out my errors and areas I need to work on in my writing.
P.S : I have at different stages in my life considered giving up,I am young you might think, what could she possible have seen, but that's the actual truth..there is still a lot more to see in life...but if you stop now n rest on those oars ..you just may never get to see those high days no matter how close to you they might be.
Ball those fists you and you..let's get past today and blast through tomorrow.
