In my country, there is social research that shows that the current generation cannot afford to buy their own homes because their money is spent on buying coffee. It sounds impossible and funny, doesn't it? Wait, of course the crime is not about coffee, but the economic condition in my country is indeed very concerning, and it happens to be accompanied by the growth of a coffee-drinking lifestyle that is now ingrained in society.

What can we do? Indonesia does have the best coffee beans, one of which has even ranked number one in the world. Yep... Gayo Arabica. It's also one of my favourite coffees. So, the combination of the best coffee beans and the barista's blend or house blend from certain coffee cafes has made the lifestyle of one cup of coffee a day widespread and ingrained.

Alright, this time the topic is certainly about social issues and coffee, but the fact is that whenever I go out, I always think, ‘Where should I go for a nice cup of coffee?’ while looking for recommendations for cafés that serve the best coffee. Or sometimes I randomly walk into a café because the place is comfortable and the menu is varied. Like what I did that time with my friend, Zaza.

That afternoon, after a light rain, Zaza and I met at a café and ordered coffee according to our respective tastes. I had a Black Rose coffee mocktail, a combination of espresso, water and strawberry, while Zaza, as usual, ordered coffee with milk. We enjoyed our coffee according to our respective tastes.

As for the Black Rose, for some reason, it didn't quite suit my taste buds. I think I would prefer a mocktail combination of espresso and orange rather than strawberry. Although both have the added sourness of fruit, orange is my preference for next time. However, it's okay because at least my coffee has no sugar and only contains the sugar from the fruit. It's not that I'm anti-sugar. It's just a preventive measure because my stomach hurts when there are various ingredients in my coffee, plus sugar. Although the flavour is lacking, I can still enjoy it.

That afternoon, the sky was still gloomy, but our conversation flowed freely. We also ordered a hearty meal. So, we sipped our coffee and finished our respective meals amidst the gloomy weather. Thank you for reading my post and my coffee journey. See you in my next post.
