The warm window

I had managed to get an interview with him some weeks ago. He seemed to see something in me because he gave me a contract to write his biography. One of the many grass to grace stories. An excerpt from the story.

He spoke with such feeling. His thoughts etched deep into the grooves on his face.

He was a respected 55 year old man, Orphaned at the age of 4 without any known relatives. He was picked up by a woman who fed him only when he went on errands for her.

Some errands included trudging through the snow at odd hours of the night. Some days he would pass by the rich district or Rich town (as it was called) where all the people who were people lived.

There was a house at the end of the street where the lights were always on and glowing. Looking at it always gave him a sense of warmth. Sometimes he would sit under the window and let the light spill over him as best as it could.
Thankfully the lights never went out.

Many a night, this was his inspiration. It pushed him to keep going on. It gave him the courage to keep trudging through the snow and making his own path.

Today he is a man in his own right because of a small window of light.....
