How to do the 'arm wave' - dance tutorial
Hey Steemians!
Here is my first dance tutorial. This is one of my favourite dance moves of all time and I can't wait to share it with you. Here is how to do the 'arm wave'.
The arm wave consists of 12 small isolations which I call the 'foundations'.
Here they are:
Number 1: Start with your right arm horizontally out to the side at a 90 degree angle.
Number 2: Curl the fingers towards the palm of your hand.
Number 3: Then, push the knuckles up to the ceiling - creating a triangle shape with the hand.
Number 4: Next, point your wrist downwards.
Number 5: This is the tricky one! Push the elbow up to the ceiling and keep your hand flat out to the side.
Number 6: Push your right shoulder up to meet your right ear.
Number 7: Then, swap shoulders by pushing the left shoulder up to your left ear and the right shoulder is now relaxed.
Number 8: Now on the other arm - push your left elbow up to the ceiling and keep the hand flat out to the side.
Number 9: Point your left wrist downwards.
Number 10: Push the knuckles of your left hand up to the ceiling - creating a triangle shape with the hand.
Number 11: Extend the fingers, but keep the fingers near the palm of your hand.
Number 12: Lastly, extend the fingers out straight to the side.
Hooray! You've now accomplished the foundations - which once linked all together will create the waving motion.
Here is a little video of what it should look like once you link all the isolations above together (in slow motion): https://d.tube/#!/v/thisisjordan/bblwo63b
Try out the above foundations and link them together, put on your favourite tune & start waving! Have fun with it!
Hope you enjoy trying out this dance move!
Comment below with other dance moves you would like to learn and I will upload a step by step tutorial!
Have a great sunday everyone!
Keep Steemin'
:)
