Introduce Yourself: My Biggest Long-Term Investment — Building a Permaculture Ranch from Scratch

Hello Hive! I'm Matteo, I come from "la bella Italia," and I want to take you along on the journey of my biggest project yet: living a healthy and free life through permaculture.
But let’s start from the beginning: why permaculture? How did it all happen?
The answer for many of you will be much simpler and more intuitive than you think. I tried to picture my life over the next 30 years: an office job, a house in the city, endless bills, traffic, pollution, and supermarket food that tastes like absolutely nothing…
I am a massive fan of investments, especially long-term ones. Because as we all know, time always proves you right. Looking at that bleak urban future, I realized it would definitely stain my otherwise splendid "life resume."
So, while I was busy planning to conquer the world, I stumbled upon a video of a guy who built a family-run farm following permaculture principles. What I saw on the screen was the happiest, most fulfilled man in the world: surrounded by greenery, eating his own homegrown food, in absolute peace.
I said out loud: “I want all of this!”
From that exact moment, I started studying like crazy: videos, books (my room is literally overrun by them right now); and I realized that permaculture isn't just about gardening—it’s about designing a whole ecosystem that works WITH you!

My ultimate goal? To buy a piece of land and found my own "frontier" ranch, a true regenerative outpost. I'm still deciding on the name, but something like Outpost Regrow, The Wild Yield Ranch, or Antiqua Villa (a nod to my Roman roots 😉) drives me crazy!

There is just one tiny, insignificant detail: I don't have a single penny to my name!

I don't own land yet, I don't have the funds to buy it, and I have zero starting capital. Because of this, my journey won't start with bulldozers—it will start with a pen.

You won't see massive harvests or tractors on my profile (at least for now!). Instead, I will share everything I learn on the theoretical side, step by step. I will publish my design drawings, blueprints showing how water flows, detailed breakdowns of nature’s cycles, and practical guides packed with tips for anyone who, like me, wants to start from scratch with zero budget.

This profile is going to be an incubator for ideas. And who knows? Maybe with your support and your upvotes on this platform, post after post, I'll be able to save up the first funds to buy that famous first acre of land. Every single vote you drop here is literally a brick for my future ranch!

I chose to document all of this on Hive because I think there is an incredible connection between permaculture and Web3. Both strive for decentralization, independence from centralized systems, and personal freedom. Right here on Hive, I want to create my ultimate captain's log, sharing every single failure and success along the way.
